A Once Beautiful World

The world was once so beautiful Like crystal, glass and snow Delicate, and sparkling bright A treasure I didn't know I used to think it nothing special I used to let it pass But now my time is running out My years are fading fast I want to escape the sadness The black ink in my core It's sticky, cold and draining And in emotion, I am sore But the problem is I smile I still see the world I'm in And although I can not feel it I know it's beautiful, though dim. I only want some freedom To be lost in what I love But these walls that overpower me They are crushing down from above I will not hold forever But there still remains a spark If i can hold just one more day I might just escape the dark The world was once so beautiful And, though dieing, it's still Divine And soon I will be running free Until then, I'll just say "I'm fine..." ~ L

Inspiration

If you look to the sky, before dawn breaks the veil and into the night where the dreams of man sale You will see a light barely a speck in the ocean a star that glows faintly and is barely in motion. It will dance, it will flicker It will hope and then fall like many before it, but it will grow tall It's a star that's made special created by nothing forged in the dreams that one day, it will be something, It will sputter, and crackle flare and ignite before swallowing all in it's unfair delight Then you'll look to the star that you barely observed and you'll notice a hole from the place it once served Then you'll see the gleam Of the moon, on the sea And in it's reflection The remains of a dream Not ashes or dust But a hot burning light Because now the small star Has just flooded the night The dreams are now shattered from hope to reality and above you, a cloud O...

A Symbol Of Change

There is a small red flower With crimson in it's leaf And copper stems, so strong and fine It gives me some relief This flower is not special I've seen many in my time But the reason that I got it Is far more special than it's design It needs a little water But how it does give me fright When the petals start their falling I fear it will fall from sight But now I know it's clever Because it can do just one great thing If, at all, it's petals fall Then a new blossom, it will bring And it doesn't have to be in red I've heard navy looks quite nice Maybe turquoise, or an autumn brown Or I could just use wine red twice? But what it is, is not what's special It's what it does, That I hold dear A symbol that is different So that a new change can be made clear So, I brought in a small red flower And it sits, perfectly on show Because I am certain I will change my life And it will help me, that I know.
